MECHANICSBURG

Mechanicsburg is a borough in Cumberland County and is about 8 miles west of Harrisburg. It is in a rich agricultural region known as the Cumberland Valley. Mechanicsburg’s boro is charming with streets lined with businesses, churches and restaurants. Each summer, the downtown borough gets turned into the longest and largest running one day street fair in the Eastern United States known as Jubilee Day.

Mechanicsburg is home to Williams Grove Speedway and Williams Grove Speedway Fleamarket.  The half-mile speedway has been part of the rich history of motorsports throughout the nation since it opened in 1939. The “Grove” has seating for 10,000 people and features Sprint car racing.

Mechanicsburg serves the Cumberland Valley, Mechanicsburg and West Shore School District depending on where you live.  It is a town filled with lovely neighborhoods and communities where “being a neighbor” is a great thing!

BOILING SPRINGS

The village of Boiling Springs is located in South Middleton Township (township population 15,000 projected for 2010.

Boiling Springs is picturesque and offers a small town feel to its community.  There is beautiful scenery, fly fishing, the oldest public pool in Cumberland County, quaint bed and breakfasts, local events and a famed theater, The Allenberry Playhouse and Resort. Founded in 1845, but settled prior to 1737, Boiling Springs is a village that surrounds the Children’s Lake, right on the Appalachian Trail.  The Memorial Clock Tower, erected in 1956 and the Boiling Springs (Grist) Mill, on record as early as 1785, are two landmarks in the village.  The mill is one of, if not the most photographed building in the village.

Boiling Springs is a fantastic community of individuals that are inspired to create that small town feel and share it with anyone who visits.
